Individual Therapy

Our practice specializes in one-on-one counseling sessions tailored to your unique needs. We offer a safe and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and concerns, working collaboratively to achieve your mental health goals.

Couples Therapy

For couples facing relationship challenges, we provide couples therapy aimed at improving communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering healthier connections. Our goal is to strengthen relationships and help partners navigate issues together.

Family Therapy

We offer family therapy sessions designed to address family dynamics, conflicts, and relationship issues. Family therapy helps enhance understanding, improve communication, and build stronger bonds within families.

EMDR INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION PACKAGES WITH A CONSULTANT-IN-TRAINING

For EMDR trained clinicians working toward certification, Sandra provides a detailed list of areas that should be understood in each phase, and will work with each consultee in individual consultation to discuss their strengths as an EMDR clinician and work with them to strengthen and grow in any areas necessary.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but when it becomes overwhelming and persistent, it can interfere with daily life. It may include excessive worry, restlessness, muscle tension, and a range of physical and emotional symptoms. Anxiety disorders can be treated effectively with therapy and coping strategies. Our mental health services offer guidance and support to help you manage anxiety and regain control over your life.

Depression

Depression is more than just feeling sad; it's a complex mental health condition that affects your mood, thoughts, and overall quality of life. It can manifest as persistent sadness, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, changes in sleep and appetite, and difficulty concentrating. The good news is that depression is treatable, and with the right support and therapy, individuals can find their way back to a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Trauma/PTSD

Trauma, often resulting from distressing events such as accidents, abuse, or violence, can have a profound impact on mental health. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop when the trauma's effects linger, causing symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, and avoidance. Our trauma-informed care and therapy approaches are designed to help individuals heal from past traumas, regain control, and move forward with resilience.

Grief and Loss

Grief is a natural reaction to losing someone or something important to us. It can affect us emotionally, physically, and mentally. The journey through grief is unique for each person, and it may involve feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, and even relief. Our grief and loss counseling provides a safe space to explore and process these emotions, allowing you to find healing and meaning in your own time.

Payments and Insurance

Individual, Couples, Family therapy services, and EMDR, we currently accept IEHP, Optum, United Health Care, Cigna, Aetna, TriWest, Tricare, Blue Cross of California, and Anthem Blue Cross. Please contact them directly to verify your eligibility for referral to Sandra Carlson, LMFT at Mindfully Balanced.

Out-of-Network clients, we will provide you with a Superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance provider for reimbursement of your session fees (please call your specific plan to see if this is an option for you).

Session fees, co pays, co-insurance and deductibles are due at time of service.
